Turner Classic Movies is bringing a bit of Hollywood history to Denver in conjunction with SDFF33. Open to the public, this free multimedia exhibit was created to let film lovers experience the history of filmmaking in America. The exhibit features unique memorabilia, including an Oscar statuette for Casablanca; costumes galore—including one worn by Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music, a dress worn by Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind, a red jacket worn by Marilyn Monroe in Niagara and a coat worn by Rudolph Valentino in The Sheik; a vintage camera from the silent film era; and a demonstration of zoetrope, an early precursor to motion pictures.
Film fans will be able to experience classic movie imagery and clips, try their hands at trivia, use touchscreens with photographs of rare memorabilia from the studio era and take a poll about favorite studio-era films.
Thursday–Saturday, November 4-6, at the King Center
