CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Behind the Scenes at the Starz Denver Film Festival
Starz Denver Film Festival 2007
Denver, CO – The 30th Starz Denver Film Festival (SDFF) seeks energetic, film-loving volunteers for the 11-day celebration of international cinema taking place on November 8-18. Volunteers are needed for transportation, setting up and tearing down of events, taking tickets, selling merchandise, and other production related assignments.
For more information about volunteering at the 30th Starz Denver Film Festival and for the online application visit denverfilm.org/participate/volunteer or call 303.595.3456 X223. Applications will be accepted until November 1.
Volunteers are required to work at least three shifts over the course of the Festival. Shifts average four hours and are distributed throughout the day (morning, afternoon, evening).
Volunteers must attend one of two orientation meetings scheduled for Thursday, October 11th at 7pm and Saturday, October 13th at 10am. Both sessions will take place at the Starz FilmCenter, adjacent to the Tivoli Building on the Auraria Campus (900 Auraria Parkway). Parking validation will be available.
Nearly 300 volunteers are needed each year to assist in the production of the Festival. With this year celebrating the 30th anniversary of the SDFF, the need for volunteers is even greater to ensure a memorable experience for patrons. Volunteers will not only enjoy the experience of giving back to the community, but will also receive compensation in the form of film vouchers redeemable for one year for any Denver Film Society sponsored screening.
All regular screenings will take place at the Denver Film Society's permanent home, the Starz FilmCenter at the Tivoli on the Auraria Campus. Opening Night, Big Night and Closing Night events will take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
