Be an intern with the 2011 Starz Denver Film Festival!
We are looking for interns for the 2011 Starz Denver Film
Festival. These are unpaid full-time or near full-time positions in various
departments of the Festival that give participants an opportunity to be right
in the center of the action and gain valuable (and really fun) experience in
what it takes to make a film festival happen!
Opportunities may be available in the following departments
leading up to and during the Festival, which takes place from November 2
through November 13, 2011:
Operations As the name
implies, this is the department responsible for making sure that all
operational aspects of the Festival are successfully carried out. It includes
production, special events, theatre operations and venue management.
Volunteers This department
recruits, schedules and manages all Festival volunteers and interacts with
every other department throughout the Festival to ensure that all workforce
needs are met.
Transportation This department schedules
and manages the Festival drivers who serve our out-of-town guests.
Development
This department
handles corporate sponsorships, patron packages and other financial support
essential to the success of the Festival.
Marketing This department
oversees all advertising, publications
and social media to promote Festival events and programs.
Publicity This
department handles local, national and industry media relations and coordinates
press credentials, filmmaker interviews and other news coverage of the Festival.
Guest
Relations This
department coordinates travel arrangements for guests of the Festival.
Partnerships This department
reaches out to community groups and other organizations regarding specific
Festival programs and events that may be of interest to them.
Membership This department
works with Denver Film Society members to ensure that they receive the best
possible Festival experience. Members are a critical source of ongoing
financial support for the organization and provide an important audience base
for programming at the Festival and year-round.
Filmmakers’
Lounge The Filmmakers’
Lounge provides food and beverage service and a casual environment for meetings
and conversation to guests and major financial supporters of the Festival.
The start date and time commitment required will vary by
department. Some positions involved in aspects of Festival planning may need to
be filled as early as September 20 while others relating to production may not
come on board until mid- to late October. Most positions are likely to require
at least 15 to 20 hours per week leading up to the Festival and 40 or more
hours a week during the Festival itself.
All interns will be given staff or equivalent credentials
for the Festival which will provide them with access to many Festival events
and programs. In addition, interns will receive other benefits relating to the
year-round activities of the Denver Film Society.
If you are interested in serving as an Intern please send a
resume and cover letter indicating your area(s) of interest to Eileen at volunteer@denverfilm.org.
