Polish director Leszek Dawid’s debut feature is a story about maturity and responsibility for yourself and those around you. Ki (Roma Gasiorowska) is a twentysomething free spirit who has a child but doesn’t want to accept the attendant responsibility. She’d like to pawn her son off on the boy’s father, Antoni (Krzysztof Ogloza), but caring for his offspring isn’t on his agenda. She has to take her son, Pio (Kamil Malecki), to the art studio, where she’s a nude model. Pio disrupts the atmosphere there, nearly getting Ki fired. At night, she leaves Pio with friends so she can go out partying. After dumping her boyfriend, Ki and Pio move in with her friend Dor (Sylwia Juszczak) and her housemate Miko (Adam Woronowicz). But Ki continues her irresponsible ways, not cleaning up or paying her share of the bills. The welfare board threatens to take Pio away if she doesn’t become a responsible mother. In a last-ditch attempt to keep her son, she asks Miko if he’ll pretend to be her fiancée. But will that be enough to keep Ki on track? - STEVE BELGARD U.S. Premiere In cooperation with the Kosciuszko Foundation Click here for Information on Group Rates and Discounts!
