After adapting What Maisie Knew 20 years ago, Carroll Cartwright wrote a stack of unproduced screenplays, some better than others, script-doctored Hollywood xtravaganzas like Jumanji and Pearl Harbor, and had the great pleasure of working with Paul Newman on Where the Money Is. He is currently directing Jane, Jane, Tall as a Crane from his most recent script.



Mr. Thal has been an executive in the entertainment industry over twenty five years, primarily as a literary manager. He is a partner in Ensemble Entertainment, a boutique personal management firm, for over twelve years where he manages directors and writers primarily in film and television, but also ventures into the theater, internet and publishing areas.

He and his partner executive-produced the Disney Channel movie “Starstruck” in 2010, and he and the company have producing deals with Disney, Alcon, Summit and Fox Television Studios. Earlier producing credits include the Sundance hit “Slaves To The Underground”, and the Family Channel series “The Mr. Bill Show”.

Prior to forming Ensemble, Mr. Thal was a partner in two other management firms, Seven Summits Pictures & Management and Creative Alliance. He started his career as a talent and literary agent with the distinguished New York agency, The Lantz Office, where he worked with such artists as Milos Forman, Paul Verhoeven, Jules Feiffer, Peter Shaffer, Elizabeth Taylor, Nastassja Kinski, Anthony Hopkins, Maximillian Schell, Sir Alec Guiness and the Tennessee Williams estate.



Nicholas Bogner is a producer and a manager of actors, writers and directors. He has vast experience in all areas of television and features. He has been an executive for major feature companies as well as a television network and also has two produced credits as a screenwriter, The Little Death and No Strings Attached. He also recently produced Soccer Mom starring Emily Osment (Hannah Montana) and Missi Pyle (The Artist, Dodgeball) for Starz and Anchor Bay.

Several years ago, Bogner opened up a literary branch for the management and production company Affirmative Entertainment. The company also represents a stellar list of actors and actresses, including several Oscar and Emmy winners and produces Showtime’s “Californication”, and now they have signed an illustrious group of writers and directors. He sold several specs in the feature world and has helped package several films. He has sold pilots to MTV, CW, Fox Studios, Fox 21, Starz, Sy-Fy, Showtime and NBC. Along with Angela Mancuso, he is executive producing a show at USA and E!

Before producing and managing, Bogner served as vice president of original programming for Turner Network Television (TNT) for seven years. In this capacity, he was responsible for the development of all long form – including two-hour movies, backdoor pilots, mini-series as well as series - for the network’s TNT Originals franchise.
