35mm presentation - Enjoy this gooey relic of a by-gone time that most of us can't remember (and some of us are trying hard to forget!). It's about a time when disco was king and roller skates were thought to be the transportation of the future. The film tells the tale of a boy and girl caught in love's embrace at the local roller disco and all of the good times the whole world seems to enjoy at the joint (including celebs Ruth Buzzi and Flip Wilson) except for the grumpy ringleader of a roller gang (Patrick Swayze in his film debut) who wants to come between the roller rink's star crossed lovers. Featuring so much good music (whose clearances have kept this baby off of DVD for years) and so many terrible outfits and outrageous dance sequences, Skatetown U.S.A. may just be the last movie we ever need to play in The Watching Hour (it won't be). Seriously, watch the trailer...
