10th Anniversary 35mm presentation! - Based on a character that appeared on The Chris Rock Show, Pootie Tang was written and directed by comedian Louis C. K. and tells the tale of a musician/actor/folk hero of the ghetto, and chronicled from his early childhood to his battles against the evil Corporate America, who try to steal his magic belt and make him sell out by endorsing addictive products to his people. After filming commenced the film was promptly taken away from the director by the studio and reassembled into something a tad more marketable. Is the film terrible? Genius? A mutant hybrid of both? Let’s watch it all together and discuss.
