Young Filmmakers Workshop Masters Class

480 Minute Running Time

The YFW Masters Class is a two-week, intensive filmmaking program for young filmmakers who already have experience in the process of filmmaking and are looking for advanced instruction. This Masters Class program will include instruction from some of Colorado’s most successful working film professionals to give students deeper experience in pre-production, scriptwriting, cinematography, and editing. Each guest lecturer will be a working professional in his or her area of expertise, and will advise students as they create their own short films.

Who:13-19 year olds
When: August 1-12, 9 AM-3 PM on weekdays
Where: Denver Open Media, 700 Kalamanth St., Denver, CO

Topics will include:
• Non-narrative Story
• Advanced Audio
• Lighting
• Advanced Editing
• Advanced Camera Work
• Video in the Professional Setting
• The Festival Circuit

It is recommended that students applying for the Masters Class have, as a prerequisite, completed either the introductory Young Filmmakers Workshop or a high school filmmaking class.

Tuition: $725 – includes two week program with equipment provided and a one-year student membership to the Denver Film Society.

YFW student films will also screen as part of the 33rd Starz Denver Film Festival in November 2011.
