Bruce Granger, a long-time film enthusiast and president of Kind Love, a medical marijuana dispensary, will join Salon curator and host Robert Denerstein for a probing look at the ways in which Hollywood has tended to view marijuana use. With Colorado in the forefront of the medical marijuana debate, Granger has established himself as a leading spokesman for issues revolving around medical uses of marijuana. He is a member of the Colorado Department of Revenue Medical Marijuana Advisory Board and the former co-chair of ACT4CO (Act for Colorado), a grass-roots, member-driven medical marijuana advocacy organization. Lively talk will be supplemented by film clips as we examine whether Hollywood has moved from Reefer Madness to a different attitude toward a drug that regularly turns up on the nation's screens.
