THE YOUNG FILMMAKERS WORKSHOP at the 35th Starz Denver Film Festival
October 29th-November 8th, 2012
Taught by Scott Kinnamon
Tuition: $450
Ages 12-18
Scott Kinnamon and the Young Filmmakers Workshops return this fall for the 35th Starz Denver Film Festival to present a unique documentary film workshop. Teens ages 12-18 will learn the art of documentary filmmaking and gain a unique perspective on this international film festival.
During the two-week workshop, students will work in small groups to create interview profiles of local and visiting filmmakers. Some of these interviews will premiere before films at this year’s festival. They’ll also attend the Opening Night Red Carpet event and catch two films together as a group at the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax.
Tuition includes the cost of the workshop, filmmaker credentials, and field trips to Opening Night and the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax. Students who are new to the workshop will also receive a student membership to the Denver Film Society.
The workshop will run from 4pm-8pm on October 29-30, November 1, 5, 7, and 8. We will take the night off on October 31 and end early at 6pm on November 6 (Election Day). The workshop will take place in two locations: October 29- November 1 at 22nd and Fairfax, and November 5-8 at East High School. More specific details about times and locations will be included in your welcome email.
