Young Filmmakers Workshop Introductory Class 2013
480 Minute Running Time
A two-week introductory course in basic filmmaking that culminates with the creation of a short, narrative film. Students learn film theory, film pre-production, scriptwriting, cinematography and basic editing.

June 10-21 OR June 24-28 & July 8-12
Both sessions 9:00am-3:00pm on weekdays
Held at Denver School of the Arts (7111 E. Montview Boulevard, Denver, CO 80220)
Tuition for the Introductory Workshop is $800, OR enroll before May 3rd to
receive a 10% discount ($720 tuition). There is also a $200 discount if you enroll in 2 or more workshops.

Reflecting our mission of bringing film to diverse communities, Denver Film Society offers full-tuition or partial-tuition scholarships for deserving youth with significant financial need to attend the Young Filmmakers Workshops. Completed scholarship applications are due by Friday, May 3rd and recipients will be notified by May 20th.

Join us at our year-round home, the SIE FilmCenter (2510 East Colfax), to meet Lead Instructor Scott Kinnamon, chat with previous students, watch student films, and get your questions answered. We’ll provide some complimentary burritos, sodas, and plenty of popcorn. You can also join us for a free film screening during our 7pm hour showtimes.
Parking is free in the structure located above the theater (corner of Colfax & Columbine). The FilmCenter is also easily accessible by RTD if you take the 15 to York St. and walk East two blocks.
