Melissa Silverstein, the founder and editor of Women and Hollywood and the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Athena Film Festival, will host a discussion inspired by her new book, “In Her Voice: Women Directors Talking Directing”. “In Her Voice”, is the first book to take the words and experiences of celebrated women film directors and bring their voices front and center. This unique volume of interviews presents more than 40 feature and documentary directors from around the world including Debra Granik (Winter’s Bone), Callie Khouri (Mad Money), Sally Potter (Rage). Joining Melissa will be Colorado Directors - Donna Dewey , whose documentary, A Story of Healing, took home the ’97 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject and Annie Eastman, whose documentary Bay of All Saints was the winner of SXSW’s Audience Award for best documentary.
