VOICES Salon Series III -Wonder Women & Super Heroines presented by Melinda Barlow, Ph. D.

30 Minute Running Time

Voices Salon Series III - Wonder Women & Super Heroines
Sunday, March 10 at 3:00pm – 3:30pm

Preceding the screening of Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines, Melinda Barlow, Ph.D., and Associate Professor of Film Studies at the University of Colorado, will lead a presentation in the theatre on the film. Barlow will bring to life the iconic figure of Wonder Woman, from her earliest incarnation (moment of Pearl Harbor), to Linda Carter’s version of her and the tie to 2nd wave American feminism. Be prepared for a provocative and lively introduction to the cultural value of positive role models for all of us and particularly for young girls. A Salon discussion will be held in Henderson’s Lounge immediately following the film.
