Monday, September 30 @ 4:30pm
American Artifact chronicles the rise of American rock poster art since its birth in the 1960s. Director Merle Becker crosses the country interviewing poster designers who confirm that we are in the midst of a 21st century "rock poster art movement", where thousands of artists around the country are doing silk screened art inspired by their local scenes and the spirit of our era. The documentary features interviews with rock poster artists including Stanley Mouse (best known for creating the famous “Skeleton and Roses” poster for the Grateful Dead), Victor Moscoso, Frank Kozik and Winston Smith.
