Cold Comes the Night

Cold Comes the Night

USA, 2013, 90 Minute Running Time
Genre/Subjects: Drama, Family Issues, Thriller, Womens Issues
Language: English

Chloe (Alice Eve) and daughter Sophia live in a rundown motel on the edge of a lonely highway pit stop. Chloe runs the motel, is in desperate financial straits, and has quietly allowed a prostitution operation to run on the premises under the supervision of a corrupt local cop whose affection for Chloe is not exactly mutual.

One night, Topo (Bryan Cranston), a nearly blind career criminal, and his driver stop over at the motel en route to deliver a bag of cash to an unknown boss. What is supposed to be simply a few hours’ rest turns into multiple homicides, the loss of the cash, and the beginning of a possible out for Chloe and Sophia.

A story about desperation and survival, Cold Comes the Night spends plenty of time in the noir world and makes effective use of the age-old double-cross.
