Argentina is famous for its amazing meat, and director Tamae Garateguy doesn’t skimp on the supply in She Wolf. Like a cougar at a frat party, the femme fatale sniffs out her prey on the streets and subways of Buenos Aires. She likes to do it and does it often, but prefers her men like Kleenex: disposable. Casual sex turns into casualty sex, because she can’t get off unless they get done in.

For men who like their threesomes, the best part is that sometimes she’s a Victoria’s Secret model, sometimes a young schoolgirl, and sometimes a fiery Latina. Freud would have a field day with this one. She’s maniacal, hysterical, horny, and has three personas! At first, it seems as if there are multiple wolves plaguing Patagonia, but soon accelerated editing within scenes brings to mind Buñuel’s That Obscure Object of Desire. The homicide detective (who has a dead-husband fetish) assigned to the case is stumped. There’s a red herring involving poison imported from Vietnam by a Korean. It’s all OK; one of the girls ambushes the perverted policeman and takes a bite out of crime.

Black-and-white exterior shots emulate Truffaut’s cinéma vérité “city life” visuals, but once we hit the interiors, it’s all Herschell Gordon Lewis: very static scenes, stilted dialogue, and plenty of boobs and blood.
