VOICES: I Will Survive Shorts Program

VOICES: I Will Survive Shorts Program

82 Minute Running Time

Gloria Gaynor’s song about the tenacity of womanhood was a major hit and continues to be the most popular disco song of all time. It’s no accident that the theme of this song knows no generational or geographical boundaries...being a woman and understanding survival is universal. Our shorts explore survival in many forms. Debbie in Plan B is in total survival mode as she tries to get Jake to understand the direness of her situation; a mother in Relics does what she can to survive but just can’t keep it up for her daughter anymore; in Blue, a beautiful, animated, anthropomorphic balloon teaches us about surviving loss; Deadbeat deals with surviving the ending of a “special” relationship; and Shoot The Moon is the survival story of our times as a woman past her prime struggles with the injustice of our economic system.
