Frustrated LGBT filmmakers faced with fewer and fewer funding and distribution options have turned to the internet as a means to bring their stories to a wider audience, and the opportunities (along with budgets and production value) have grown in leaps and bounds in a very short time.

The internet has become the best place to find diverse, well rounded portrayals of LGBT characters. The web series featured in this program are the best and brightest the internet has to offer in LGBT storytelling. He’s with Me - Ted is straight. Martin…isn’t. When they meet at a wedding, their subsequent friendship shows how little they know about being modern day men and how much they learn about being there for each other, no matter their differences. He’s With Me had a very successful first season this past year on YouTube and was nominated for two Indie Series Awards. Creator/lead actor Jason Cicci will be in-person.

Kelsey - Kelsey, a talkative, humorous and often self-deprecating lesbian, has just ended her long term relationship. Actually, she’s been dumped. While looking for the next Ms. Right, she finds solace in her best friends Samantha, Rowan and Tyrone. They make the most out of life by supporting each other through the bad and the worse. In its debut season, this NYC-based show was voted one of the Best Web Series of 2013 by Indiewire.Co-creator Kelsey Rauber will be in-person.

Wallflowers - Bryce, Daisy, Martin and Jane are four friends whose love lives aren't just unlucky, they're disastrous. But all that is about to change. With the help of support group guru Janice, they've vowed to turn things around. Even if it kills them. In the space of a year, Wallflowers has gone from DIY series to the centerpiece program on the new high profile online network, Stage 17, which picked the show up for its second season. This year, Wallflowers has gotten serious attention from the gay press for its honest, believable portrayal of gay characters, garnering articles in Out, Towleroad, Frontiers, Huffington Post Gay Voices and several other publications. Its cast of Broadway actors was nominated for two Indie Series awards this year.Creator Kieran Turner will be in-person.

Hustling - Ryan Crosby AKA Rod Driver, is a sex worker hitting 40 and still turning tricks. He looks to break out of his world into a new career, but circumstances keep pulling him back. A smart, sexy, edgy drama. Hustling has run for two seasons and was honored at the 2013 Webby Awards and recently won big at this year’s Indie Series Awards, taking home two awards including Best Drama Series.Creator/lead actor Sebastian LaCause will be in-person.

Where the Bears Are - Three Bear roommates living in the hills of Silverlake try to solve a murder mystery when one of their party guests turns up dead. A cross between the Golden Girls and Murder She Wrote, this web series has its tongue firmly planted in cheek and provides plenty of big, hairy men thrown in for eye candy. The show has had two mega-successful seasons and has been covered in multiple high profile publications and has attracted such guest stars as Margaret Cho.
