Denver Film Festival announces actor Jamie Dornan in person

Dornan to receive Excellence in Acting Award

DENVER – Oct. 25, 2021 – Denver Film announced today that actor Jamie Dornan will appear in-person during the 44th edition of the Denver Film Festival. Dornan will be on hand for the Nov. 10 screening of his latest film, BELFAST, the flagship presentation of the Sheila K. O’Brien Spotlight on UK/Ireland Cinema at Denver Botanic Garden’s Sturm Auditorium.

In addition, Denver Film will present the Irish-born actor, who grew up in the suburbs of Belfast, with its 2021 Excellence in Acting Award. Dornan has been receiving early award season buzz for his performance as Pa, channeling the desperation and earnest beats of a man urgently trying to support his family amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s. The film is also receiving a wide range of Oscar-award buzz across the writing, directing and acting categories, including Best Picture.

“We are honored to welcome Jamie Dornan to DFF44 and to have the opportunity to pay tribute and honor him for his impressive and growing body of work,” said Denver Film Festival Artistic Director, Matthew Campbell. “Jamie’s expanding resume of film roles, particularly over the past few years, has catapulted him to the very worthy Oscar buzz that is happening around the autobiographical story in BELFAST.”

Dornan joins previously announced in-person appearances from Clifton Collins, Jr. and Stefano Cipani, winner of the 2021 Maria & Tomasso Maglione Italian Filmmaker Award.  Collins Jr. who will be on hand for his latest film and Big Night Red Carpet presentation of JOCKEY and to receive Denver Film Festival’s prestigious John Cassavetes Award. Collins Jr. will also be the centerpiece of celebration of the festival’s CineLatinx program on Nov. 12 at Denver Botanic Gardens featuring a clips program and one-on-one conversation.
