While the Sie FilmCenter is closed we will be offering curated virtual screenings and discussions to entertain, educate, and engage you while we’re apart! We’re moving quickly to put this new service in place, so please be patient if we run into some initial technical issues.
Q: HOW DO I WATCH THE FILMS?
A: Every new release we offer will be available through the individual distributor’s website and streaming services. You’ll be taken to their website to purchase and watch the film, but a portion of your ticket will help support Denver Film. You’ll find details about each film and distributor and/or platform below.
Other options: How do I watch on my Smart TV?
It depends on the Smart TV you have, there are several options.
You can cast a video from your computer or smart device (phone, iPad) using the following steps
Open the movie on your device (computer or phone)
At the bottom right of the screen you should see the casting icon. It looks like this:
If you don’t see that icon and you’re casting from a computer in the Chrome browser, you can open the menu in the upper right corner of the window (or the View menu) and select “Cast.”
Once you select that button, it should give you the option to select a nearby device. Select your Chromecast. If you don’t see your Chromecast, make sure both devices are on the same wireless network.
You will get access to watch on your computer, phone, or tablet, or cast to your Google Chromecast or Smart TV. You can also download the Kino Now app for Roku or Apple TV (requires tvOS 9.0 or later) and watch the film there.
You will have to register for a free KinoNow account if you don’t already have one.
After you’ve entered your payment information, your rental period will start immediately and last for five days.
The first time you stream a movie on this platform you’ll need to create an account. This requires only your name, email address, and a password. To stream movies in the future, you can simply log in to your account.
Once your account has been created you’ll be given an opportunity to make an optional donation to the theatre. You’ll then be taken to a payment screen, where you can enter your credit card information.
Once your payment has been processed you should receive a confirmation email, and the film will become available to you for 48 hours.
You should be able to stream the film on your computer, tablet, or mobile device, and, if you have a television that is able to mirror your computer or phone, possibly on your television as well.
You will get access to watch on any internet-connected device, including laptops, tablets and smartphones, AppleTV, Chromecast, and more.
After you’ve entered your payment information, your rental period will start immediately and last for three days.
For $4.99, you’ll be able to rent the film for 48 hours, and for $14.99 you’ll be able to purchase the film to stream and download, all through Vimeo. More information is available here.
Q: I JUST PURCHASED THE FILM, BUT I DON’T SEE HOW TO WATCH IT?
A: First, check your email, and make sure your purchase went through. For many platforms, the email you were sent should have a link for you to watch the film. If you are still having issues, please submit a support request here.
Q: I’M A DENVER FILM MEMBER; IS THERE A MEMBER PRICE?
A: Unfortunately, due to our agreements with distributors, we aren’t able to offer member pricing for these films. But don’t worry—we have extended membership expiration dates to account for the intermission. These rentals will help ensure that we are able do that—and if you’d consider an additional donation to the Denver Film, you can do so here. Thank you for your support!
