Featuring special effects by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, based on a multi-award-winning screenplay by Denver filmmakers, and the recipient of a generous and hard-earned film grant, BEASTS UNDISCOVERED is a father-daughter wilderness adventure that the Black List called, “a charming, off-beat crowd pleaser with a surprisingly strong emotional punch.” After several years of development, the film is slated to go into production this September 2026!

Synopsis: Jake discovered the Loch Ness monster, but that was years ago, and since then he’s discovered nothing–but he’s been forced to watch as his younger, cooler, better-looking, former protégé shows his own mythical discoveries to an admiring press and corporate sponsors, all using techniques stolen from Jake. Jake’s personal life is no better, and his daughter barely speaks to him since the divorce. But when Sarah inadvertently brings Jake a clue that might lead to mythology’s greatest still undiscovered beast, Jake will beg, borrow, and steal–and bribe his own daughter–to mount one last expedition, and prove he’s more than just a one-hit wonder. Can Jake show the world he hasn’t been delusional all these years? Can Jake and Sarah rediscover the sense of wonder they once shared?

Beasts Undiscovered is a laugh out loud comedy adventure with a great big heart. It’s a love letter to our gloriously imperfect families, to the Colorado wilderness where we’ve grown up and continue to grow, and to the hope and wonder that still remain in the world if we can only remember to seek them out! The intended grantee is vetted and pre-approved by the fiscal sponsor prior to any fundraising for the purposes of the project. So long as the grantee has not breached the fiscal sponsorship agreement, the fiscal sponsor will ordinarily grant the funds raised for the project to the grantee, less some agreed upon amount it retains as an administrative fee. While the fiscal sponsor has the variance power to direct such funds to another organization to advance the same charitable purposes, it has a business reason not to exercise such power except under egregious circumstances.*
