As the home of the Denver Film Society, the Sie FilmCenter features the finest in independent and world cinema–from new limited releases to arthouse retrospectives–on a weekly-changing schedule that accommodates 600-plus titles per year. The Sie FilmCenter also regularly hosts festivals, program series, and other special events, bringing filmgoers and filmmakers together to celebrate the art of the motion pictures.

The Sie FilmCenter also features numerous series and symposia in partnership with over 100 local organizations—including Women+Film, film/STILL, Films on Tap, Sci-Fi Film Series, and the LGBTQ-themed CinemaQ.

Film on the Rocks

Film on the Rocks (FOTR) is the can’t-miss event of the summer in Denver. After 17 years, FOTR continues its sell-out tradition, showing cult and classic films to over 50,000 people under shining stars at the beautiful and iconic Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Guests are also treated to performances by outstanding musicians and the best local comedians.

CineLatino is a four-day cultural celebration of Latino cinema. Taking place during Hispanic Heritage Month, the festival offers a healthy mix of feature films and documentaries, along with new and repertory titles. The Denver Film Society is proud to recognize and celebrate the contribution of Latinos to the world of cinema.

CinemaQ is the first name in LGBTQ film in Colorado. This festival showcases gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities by screening the best in recent LGBT cinema. The annual slate of films aims to share stories and pay tribute to iconic cultural figures while challenging and inspiring audiences.

The Women+Film Festival is a six-day showcase of documentaries, narratives and short films celebrating the best in women-centric programming. Highlighting thought-provoking, inspirational stories of women from around the world, the festival is a key part of the DFS’s year-round efforts to promote films for, by and about women that engage, build community, educate and inspire.
