Denver Film Festival Social Media Intern


Classification: Seasonal/Part Time

Salary Range: $750 Stipend

Location: Sie FilmCenter – 2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206, and on location as needed

Reporting Structure: Reports to Content Specialist


Position Summary: 

Denver Film is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to support our Marketing & Communications team during the 48th Denver Film Festival (October 31 – November 9, 2025). This is a unique opportunity to showcase your talents, work in one of the largest festivals in the region and work the red carpet.

The Social Media Intern will assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing content across Denver Film’s social media platforms, engage with online communities, and help capture the energy of the Festival for audiences both in-person and online. We are also looking for a social media person who can quickly turn out high quality content and is in the know about what is trending.

Interns will meet once a week with the Content Specialist prior to the festival to start creating content and plan for the festival, then transition into working the Denver Film Festival from October 31 – November 9, 2025.


About Denver Film:

The first Denver International Film Festival was successfully launched in May 1978. Three years later, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Denver Film Society was created to expand opportunities to bring films to Denver that otherwise might not be shown, and to celebrate and cultivate film as an art form. Over the years, the organization has grown into one of the largest and most respected cultural institutions in the Rocky Mountain region. In 2019, the organization rebranded to Denver Film to build a more inclusive organization. This effort continues as we focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across our wide array of year-round programs, including Colorado Dragon Boat Film Festival, Women+Film Festival, CinemaQ Film Festival, CineLatinx Film Festival, Film on the Rocks, the Denver Film Festival, and other programming. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to other duties as assigned, this position will be responsible for the following:

  • • Assisting with daily posting and scheduling across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Threads.
  • • Capturing and sharing on-the-ground content during the Festival (photos, video clips, Stories, videos for reels, interviews).
  • • Editing short-form videos with a quick turnaround for social platforms to share during the festival
  • • Monitoring social media channels, engaging with followers, and responding to comments/messages
  • • Supporting creation of Festival highlight reels, recap posts, and live updates.
  • • Collaborating with Denver Film’s Marketing team to ensure consistent brand voice and messaging.
  • • Tracking social media performance and audience engagement during the Festival.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

  • • Creative eye for photography, video, and digital storytelling
  • • Basic video editing skills with the ability to produce content quickly
  • • Excellent inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to act in professional manner with members of the public and with staff members
  • • Maintaining confidentiality and security of Denver Film’s confidential information
  • • The ability to be calm and move confidently under high pressure scenarios
  • • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while supporting the goals and initiatives of a collaborative team
  • • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills
  • • Intermediate to advance skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software and internet required

Special Requirements

  • • Reliable access to transportation
  • • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • • Prior social media or digital marketing experience is a plus, but not required
  • • Able to climb up and down stairs; able to climb up and down ladders; able to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach and carry; able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., including up and down stairs
