Denver Film to Honor Hannah Waddingham with Barbara Bridges Inspiration Award May 16

DENVER – March 25, 2024Denver Film announced today that Emmy Award-winning television, film, and theater actress and singer Hannah Waddingham will receive Women+Film’s 2024 Barbara Bridges Inspiration Award from Denver Film, Thursday, May 16, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Denver Art Museum Sturm Grand Pavilion. The event will feature A Conversation with Hannah Waddingham.

Best known to audiences as ‘Rebecca Welton’ in the award-winning Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso”, Waddingham has garnered Emmy and Critics Choice wins, as well as two Golden Globe and SAG nominations for this role. For her work in theater, Waddingham has received three Olivier nominations for her roles in Kiss Me Kate as Kate/Lilli Vanessi, A Little Night Music as Desiree Armfeldt and Monty Python’s Spamalot as The Lady of The Lake.

In addition to her work on “Ted Lasso,” Waddingham can also be seen in Dan Harmon’s FOX animated series “Krapopolis,” the show debuted as the highest rated animated series in over a decade. Additional television credits include Netflix’s “Sex Education” and HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”

Waddingham’s upcoming feature film projects include Universal’s action film, The Fall Guy, with an ensemble led by Ryan Gosling and including Emily Blunt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. In addition, Waddingham will be seen in Sony Pictures’ upcoming release of the animated adaptation of Garfield opposite Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson, and opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, releasing in 2025.

Waddingham is the fourth recipient of the Women+Film Barbara Bridges Inspiration Award. Past winners include Denver’s own Academy Award-winning filmmaker Donna Dewey, producer Abigail Disney, actress, singer, dancer and EGOT winner, Rita Moreno, and most recently, director Gabriela Cowperthwaite.
