A cinematic summer celebration at Colorado’s most iconic landmark (but make it a Drive-In). For 20 years, Film on the Rocks has brought together outstanding local bands and comedians, everyone’s favorite films, and enthusiastic audiences in the most affordable program hosted at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This year we are turning the summer favorite into a Drive-In movie theater!

  • All tickets to Film on the Rocks Drive-In include movie snacks that will distributed to each vehicle upon entry. A bag of CityPop Popcorn, theatre size box of plain M&M’s, 7oz Twizzlers, and two 20oz Coke products (choice of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dasani upon availability) will be included per vehicle ticket. In addition, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches are available for discounted pre-purchase online or cashless payment on-site including sandwich, cookies, chips and drink.

Ticketing FAQs

  • Q: Can I buy a ticket onsite?

    All tickets are available for online purchase only. To buy tickets for an individual show click the button that appears when you hover over a film poster on this page.

  • Q: Does each attendee require a ticket?

    No, only one ticket is required per vehicle regardless of the number of passengers.

  • Q: Is there a limit on the number of attendees per vehicle?

    No. You may bring as many passengers as your vehicle can safely accommodate. RV’s, buses, or any hitched trailers are not allowed and will be denied entry.

  • Q: Will weather or rain impact my showing?

    Some weather (e.g. severe thunderstorms) will delay or cancel screenings. Our team is continuously watching the weather and will decide day-of whether it is safe to hold screenings. All ticket holders will be contacted via email in the event of a cancelation. We’ll also have staff on site to communicate any cancelation. Attendees will be refunded if a screening is cancelled due to severe weather conditions. Arrival/Ticket Scanning FAQs

  • Q: When do I need to arrive for the event?

    The Drive-In will open 90 minutes before the listed show time. It is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the gate time found on your ticket. Parking spots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. 

  • Q: Do I need a mask to attend the event?

    Yes. Masks and/or face coverings will be required anytime a guest leaves their vehicle.

  • Q: How will my ticket be taken?

    Ticket scanning will be contactless. AXS Mobile ID is digital ticketing technology that provides the flexibility and convenience of safely and securely managing tickets online or in the Red Rocks app. Please note, in order to provide a safe environment for you and our staff, a touch-less transaction and entrance experience is required for Red Rocks events. Please have your Red Rocks app (or AXS app) open with your AXS Mobile ID displayed as you approach the entry gate for scanning.

Parking FAQs

  • Q: How do I know where to park?

    Vehicles will be guided to parking spots by event staff and may be directed to certain areas of the lot based on the vehicle’s size to ensure an optimal viewing experience for all guests. Vehicles will be spaced every other parking spot or at least six feet apart.

  • Q: What should I do about my headlights?

    Please dim your headlights before pulling into the theater and turn your lights (head, tail and interior) off before the film starts.

  • Q: What types of vehicles are allowed?

    Oversized and unenclosed vehicles are prohibited, including but not limited to: large vans, limousines, mopeds, motorcycles, RVs, and scooters. Please contact customer service if you are unsure if your vehicle will be permitted. Guests may watch from an open hatch or truck bed, as long as they remain within the vehicle during the show.

  • Q: Are bikes and pedestrians allowed?

    Pedestrians and bicyclists will not be permitted within the perimeter of the ticketed event site.

  • Q: Are pets/dogs allowed into the screenings?

    Only service animals are allowed and must be kept on leash.

Concessions & Services FAQs

  • Q: Will there be restrooms available?

    Yes. Temporary restroom facilities will be available onsite, although it is encouraged to use the restroom before arriving. All onsite restrooms will undergo enhanced cleanings before, during and after each event. All guests are expected to practice social distancing while waiting in line for the restrooms.

  • Q: Will there be concessions available?

    Yes. All ticketed cars receive a package including two bottles of Coca-Cola product, City Pop popcorn, and theater-sized M&M’s and Twizzlers. In addition, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches are available for discounted pre-purchase online or cashless payment on-site including sandwich, cookies, chips and drink. All guests are expected to practice social distancing while waiting in line for services.

  • Q: How should I dispose of trash?

    There will be receptacles onsite, although please keep trash in your vehicle when possible.

    Please do not litter.

During the Event FAQs

  • Q: Can I picnic or tailgate during the film?

    There is no picnicking on the grounds. All guests must remain within their vehicle during the show.

  • Q: Can I leave my vehicle during the event?

    All guests must stay inside their vehicle during the event except to use the restrooms or purchase concessions. Masks are required any time you are outside your vehicle. When outside your vehicle, please be respectful of others’ space.

  • Q: Can I keep the engine idling?

    Please refrain from idling your engine. If you need to periodically start your car to keep your battery charged, please limit the amount of time you are idling. For nighttime screenings, be aware that any lights in your car will be a distraction to others.

  • Q: What should I do about my headlights?

    Please dim your headlights before pulling into the theater and turn your lights (head, tail & interior) off before the movie starts

  • Q: How will I hear the movie?

    All films are broadcast and can be heard in your vehicle using your FM Radio. The specific FM channel to tune to will be listed on the screen during the pre-show trailer. If your vehicle is not equipped with a radio, it is recommended to bring one. The frequency will be provided at check-in and shown on screen.
