30th STARZ DENVER FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES SPECIAL GUEST ACTRESS KERI RUSSELL
Starz Denver Film Festival 2007
Denver, CO – Acclaimed actress Keri Russell will walk the red carpet at the 30th Starz Denver Film Festival’s Closing Night Celebration on November 17 at the Ellie Caulkin’s Opera House. Keri Russell is the star of the evening’s feature film AUGUST RUSH.
Keri Russell began her career as a member of Disney’s the Mickey Mouse Club in 1991. Keri's breakthrough role came in 1998 when she played "Felicity Porter" in the WB's popular series Felicity (1998). In 1999, Keri won her first Golden Globe award for her role in Felicity. Following the end of the popular television series, Keri pursued a movie career starring alongside Mel Gibson in WE WERE SOLDIERS (2002) and Joan Allen in THE UPSIDE OF ANGER (2005). In 2004, Keri made her Broadway debut in "Fat Pig" alongside Andrew McCarthy and Jeremy Piven.
Director Kirsten Sheridan’s AUGUST RUSH, tells the story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and a sheltered young cellist (Keri Russell) who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York City's Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant, August Rush, orphaned by circumstance. Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger (Robin Williams), August (Freddie Highmore) uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth.
The Closing Night premier of AUGUST RUSH is sponsored by OppenheimerFunds with the following Last Reel Party presented by Frontier Airlines and AOR.
