Women + Film: Diversity Through The Decades

Women + Film: Diversity Through The Decades
Happening: Sunday, November 15, 2:30 PM
Duration: 75 Minutes
Venue: King Center

The diverse professionals – actors, directors, and producers – on this year’s WOMEN + FILM panel will discuss, among other things, how their artistic choices are influenced by social issues, how they get their films made, and what changes they foresee in the future of their industry. Independent and foreign filmmakers seem to be making great strides in depicting diversity in all its forms, so why do women today comprise only 16 percent of all directors, executive producers, producers, writers, cinematographers, and editors working in Hollywood – down from 19 percent in 2001?

Panel: Anna Sophia Robb, 2009 SDFF Rising Star Award recipient; Sarah Siegel-Magness, producer, Precious; Eva Sánchez López, director, One for the Road; Emily Kunstler, director, William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe, Rachael Leigh Cook, actress/subject, PoliWood.
